7 Year Old War Child Joins The Syrian War

Reading the paper this morning I came across this. I'm barely a writer, talkless of being a political reporter. I'm quite disturbed by the whole Syrian war and don't quite understand the politics behind it. I do however understand children and a 7 year old carrying a gun is just plain disturbing.

The boy named Ahmed is the son of a rebel fighter? He was quoted as saying "With time it has become easy, blood has become like water to me".

Samantha Cameron visited a refugee camp in Syria this week as an ambassador for Save The Children.

"With every day that passes, more children and parents are being killed, more innocent childhoods are being smashed to pieces."

"As a mother, it is horrifying to hear the harrowing stories from the children I met today. No child should ever experience what they have," she said.
I really wish there was more I could do than simply making monetary contributions. Money would help the children that have lost their loved ones, but would do nothing for the those children that have to fight in these wars like Ahmed.

Celebrities Without Makeup

Genevieve Nnaji posted this picture of herself on instagram yesterday. Trust Nigerians, we have opinions on everything. She got comments from 'Ooh cute' to 'Fugly'. Lord have mercy.

I think it's alright, these are some picture of other celebrities without makeup. What do you think, Pass Or Fail?
There were worst pictures but then I would need to put a disclaimer up. Bad. Hehe.

My Fantasy Vacation Spots. Prt 1

I apologize in advance for this post I really want to post it but my iPad been acting like its got a mind of its own today.

I haven't been on holiday for over a year now and I'm itching to get on a plane. The silly travel agencies that keep sending me emails are not helping either. I will write a bucket list, things I'll do in the next couple of years and then start ticking. Travelling will be a big part of that list. if you were to write a list what would be on it?

This is somewhat of a start to my bucket list and I'll keep updating. Some of these are realistic but for others I'm still waiting on Gods blessings.

St Bart's. Of course it's got to be my number one, it's the french-Caribbean destination of the rich and famous. Who could blame them its absolutely beautiful.

Noble Igwe's Letter To His Future Wife

This is just the cutest letter.

Dear Future Wife,

I don’t know what you look like, if you are out here or reading this right now! If you are, please print this letter and bring it to our wedding reception. It will make a good read before our guests. They say behind every successful man is a woman. I’ll like to say that behind every successful man is a good woman because I’ve seen men that have shut down their businesses because they got involved with the wrong woman.

I want to be successful and I need to find you right now more than ever. You may not know how much I need you but I come home every night with stories that I would love to share with someone special. I come home late from clubs sometimes wishing you’d be in bed waiting for me to hug your warm body. Your slot in my life is so empty it hurts because I know you are out there without me.     I’ve often imagined how you look. Are you dark or fair in complexion? Are you Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa? I play around with different images in my head but one thing stands out, I know you are very curvy.

Mum can’t wait to meet you and believe me, sometime ago she wanted to hook me up with a certain Kunrunmi from my village but that didn’t work. Since we are talking about mum, I’ve always prayed for a marriage where mum and my wife would be best friends. I’ll do everything possible to make sure that mum treats you like her daughter. This I promise you.

I still don’t know why I’m writing you but I guess I was motivated by Waje’s song “Falling” especially the part that says “If you are ever planning on showing up, now would be perfect, now would be good”.

I totally agree with her that now would be perfect. I‘ve waited for long and I need to start loving you on time. I’ve booked my tattoo date because I promise to tattoo your name on my back the day I’ll propose to you. I’m not scared of having your name on my back because when I see you, I’ll know and I promise never to leave you. No matter where we are, we must speak to each other every day at noon and have lunch once every week when we are in the same city. I’ll tattoo your initials on my “wedding ring” finger as a constant reminder to all that I belong to you totally and in whole.     I’ve gone as far as selecting some of our special songs. On our wedding day, when you walk into the church, we’ll have Waje signing, “Here comes the bride” And just after the exchange of vows, Waje will do an accappela of “One Naira”. We’ll walk into the reception with Lami performing “Know“ Our first dance together as husband and wife should be Banky W’s “Till my dying day" Followed by Darey‘s “With this woman“ Then MI’s “God Bless You” And we’ll round our dance up with Wande Coal’s “Ololufe”.

I know I’m making all these plans without considering you but I’ll be willing to change all or accept any modifications from you even though I pray you love them too.     Is it okay if I tell you certain things about me? I hate hot tea. I’m not particular about food; I can eat Indomie, fried egg and plantain, 3 times a day for one month without complaining.     I watch loads of movies and would totally be glad if you enjoy same.

Dear, I don’t know what you don’t like but I’m totally against hairnet and wrapper.I can’t stand both either in the kitchen or in the bedroom. We’ll invest in hair wraps.     I would have said that the maximum cloth size you are allowed to get to is 10 but that may sound superficial to other people reading this, so I’ll just leave that for us to discuss one on one. I’m Yoruba and we try hard to take care of our wives.     I’ll work hard to make sure you don’t go hungry for one day till your dying day.     I’ll let you decide the number of kids we’ll have but I don’t think 3 kids will be bad and together we can make a happy family of five. It’s 8:45am 17th of Jan, 2013 and I know you are somewhere out there and it does not matter if you are in another man’s arms, when I do meet you, I promise never to let you go.     I promise to take care of you, provide you with all the reasonable good things of life that money can buy.

If you are reading this, please give me a sign. Walk up to me on the street and plant a hot kiss on m
lips as a sign.     I look forward to the day I’ll meet you and when I meet you it does not matter where we’ve been to or who we’ve been with, we will give each other clean slates to start life afresh together as one.     Someday I’ll go on my right knee with All 4 One‘s “I Swear“ playing in the background and I’ll ask you to marry me.     When we wake up in the morning, we’ll have Az Yet’s “Last Night” on repeat while we have breakfast.     I’ll write you from time to time to express how much you mean to me.     Love, hugs and tiny wet kisses,     Your future husband,     Nobs aka Stubborn Biafran soldier

It's Easter, What's going on?

It's a great time of the year to reflect on life and look at it from a whole new perspective. I know I've left it a bit late to write about Easter. Still take the time out to reflect on what it means to you and what it represents. For a lot for people it represents the beginning of new things, leaving bad habits behind and the making of resolutions. I don't mean the ones you made on the 31st of December promising to hit the gym, or promising yourself that you will try to attend midweek services.  Think of it as a second chance. Are you done. Great. It's Friday. What's going on?

South African leader has asked the world to pray for former South African president Nelson Mandela. He suffered a recurrence of a lung infection but is said to be responding positively to treatment. Mandela has a history of lung problems from tuberculosis dating back to his days on Robben Island where he was held as a political prisoner. Please pray for him.

Kim Kardashian Is Normal After All

I can`t believe my first celebrity post is about Kim Kardashian aaagh. She has often talked about her lack of cravings. She was spotted yesterday wolfing down burger and chips with melted cheese from US fast food restaurant In And Out. If you`ve been trying for the Beckham pregnancy look, give it up, eat, enjoy you're only human.
Life is too short you can hit the gym for a two hour a day session in a couple of months Kimmie.

Female African Billionaires

I just had to look this up because I had a slight disagreement with a friend who was adamant that Bola Shagaya was the richest woman in the world not Africa ... the world, she said. I had it in my head that Folunsho Alakija was the richest in Africa and I knew she had more money than bola shagaya. The arguement drew on and I decided to do little research and poking around.

We were both wrong.

The richest woman in the Africa is Idabel Dos Santos, the first african female billionaire. She is the oldest daughter of Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos. She is in the board of directors of several companies in Angola and Portugal including media company and major banks in Portugal with interests in oil and diamonds. She studied engineering at the King’s College, London and started her first business when she was 24 years old. She is well over the $1 billion mark making her the first African woman to become a billionaire. There is no clear evidence to indicate how her money was made according to Forbes. Make up your minds putting in mind that she was daughter of a president, an african president in Angola. Google is your friend.

Folorunso Alakija is Nigerian billionaire. She is the second richest woman in the world and Africa after Dos Santos. The fashion designer and Executive Director of FAMFA Oil, the gas and oil exploration and production company is currently worth over $600 million. She founded her fashion house company, Supreme Stitches in 1985 and within a year, she became the largest designer in Nigeria. She was Aisha Babangidas personal stylist. All those fantastic looking kaftans were the handiwork of Supreme Stiches later Rose Of Sharon. In 1993 Nigerian President Ibrahim Babangida awarded her company, Famfa Oil, an oil prospecting license that later became one of Nigeria’s most prolific oil blocks with her company owning a 60% stake in the block. In 2000, Baba Iyabo, President Olusegun Obasanjo, the then president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ilegally acquired a 50% stake in the block without due compensation to Alakija or her company but the stake was later revoked by the supreme court.

Ngina Kenyatta is the widow of Kenya’s first president, Jomo Kenyatta. Though she has mostly undeclared wealth but would not pass without mentioned among the wealthiest Ladies in Africa. The 80 year old charitable and welcoming Mama Ngina who now lives more of a reclusive life gained a lot of respect from Kenyan citizens for her stand in defending and promoting the family’s business interests which cuts across the banking, farming, education, insurance, hospitality, manufacturing and real estate sectors.
Mama Ngina Kenyatta currently has a series of investments, stakes and portfolios under her authority. She is a major share holder in one of the largest privately owned banks in Kenya: the Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA), and a chain of hotels (Heritage). The list is almost endless and also includes Brookside Dairies which is an East African leader in the dairy industry with market share reaching from East Africa to the Middle East. Media Max; a media company and Timsales Timber are also part of her portfolio. The latest investments is in the real estate sector and involves the development of a 500 acre Northlands City which is hoped to be the largest gated community in the region.

Bola Shagaya is one of the richest women in Nigeria. She is a business woman and the founder and CEO of Bolmus Group International which is a diversified Nigerian conglomerate company with interests in oil, real estate, banking where is a board member of Unity Bank PLC she is also involved in communications and photography. Her investments span across to the oil sector, banking and finance including real estate with hundreds of town houses in Nigeria’s choicest neighborhoods and she also owns properties in Europe and the United States.
She is also a board member of the National Economic Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD), a Nigerian focused business group. Hajia Shagaya, seemed to have aligned herself with important military and political figures in Nigeria and is reputedly very close to former Nigerian military president, Ibrahim Babangida and the Nigeria’s first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.

I recently went pass a casino in Knightbridge, which was been speculated as being bidded on by Mrs Shagaya and her businness associates. This sparked this whole discussion on who the female big guns in Africa were.

Anyway there you have it.
