Governor Akpabio Fires Domestic Aides As N40 Million Cash Disappears From Own Bedroom

I found this interesting. What in the world is he doing with that amount of money in his bedroom in the first place? I think the wrong people are being called thieves in the situation. Nigerian governors never seize to amaze me in fact politicians in general. Please read on and then make your own conclusion.

Three stewards working at the Akwa Ibom state governor’s lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, were on Friday summarily dismissed by the governor, Godswill Akpabio, over missing bundles of mint-fresh dollars valued at over $250,000 (N40 million) kept in the governor’s bedroom, news website Saharareporters, is reporting.

Bad Governance Created Boko Haram -Obama

Posted by Peter Omagbemi

President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, has tactically lent his support to the school of thought alluding the growing terrorism in Nigeria to poverty, blaming the upsurge of terrorist groups on the fact that “countries are not delivering for their people and there are sources of conflict and underlining frustrations that have not been adequately dealt with”.

The Daily Mail/The Sun says that Kanye DID propose. With a black diamond.

How Tinubu’s Daughter Was Appointed Iyaloja Of Lagos

Posted by Peter Omagbemi

The late President General of Lagos Market Men and Women, Abibat Mogaji, appointed her successor before she passed away, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt.

Mrs. Mogaji, mother of former Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu, named the latter’s daughter, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, as the new Iyaloja of Lagos, a market leader have told PREMIUM TIMES.

There had been reports that Mr. Tinubu foisted his daughter as the Lagos market leader on the traders after the death of his mother, a claim the ex-governor’s party, theAction Congress of Nigeria, ACN, denied.“The market leaders of all the 57 local governments were there. The Babaloja of Lagos, Alhaji Wasiu (Balogun), was there. Everybody supported her,” Basirat Balogun, Iyaloja of Oyingbo Market, told PREMIUM TIMES.

N640 Million Invested Towards Education In Delta State while Lagos State Increases Fees

My sister was talking about how free education was really free when she was in primary school before she was moved to kekotun in the days of jaconde in Lagos set, students had access to free stationary like books, pencils etc.

Delta State Government in Educational development and the pursuit of excellence has led to the conferment of the title of "Best State Government in the Development of Basic Education for 2012" by the Institute for Government Research and Leadership Technology.

The administration of Chief Lateef Jakande which saw the unequalled development of Lagos and gave free Education to many of these opportunists never had upto an annual income of a Billion Naira.

Today, with an average income of 30 Billion Naira monthly, Raji Fashola could openly boast that Lagos cannot afford free education for her citizens. Beyond even offering free education in Lagos state, one can imagine a whole BRF giving such a pedestrian argument to justify the increase in tuition at the Lagos State Univeristy, LASU.

Governor Babatunde Fashola insisted that his administration would not offer free education in Lagos State.

Oil Discovered In Lagos State...... Interesting

Congratulations to the rich. They must be pretty happy, the rich keep getting richer as I know this money will make absolutely no difference to my life or millions of other Lagosians. There is absolutely no reason to rejoice for me. I'm grateful for the roads, thank you. The beautification of Lagos, thank you. Improved healthcare, thank you. I,m still trying to think of more things to be grateful for while thousands go hungry, jobless and die of diseases that could be easily treated if more money was invested in healthcare. I'm not contradicting myself, I know I said improved not good or better still not great healthcare. In all things be grateful.

Nigeria’s commercial capital, LAGOS, is on the verge of joining the country’s oil-producing states with the discovery of crude oil in commercial quantities in the coastal state.

Yesterday, Afren Plc and its partner, Lekoil Limited, announced significant oil discovery offshore Dahomey Basin in Lagos, according to the London Stock Exchange.

Govt officials withdraw support for OJB due to misinformation on funds raised

Head of fund raising committee for #SaveOJB, singer Nomoreloss, says the hype and misinformation is affecting efforts to raise the complete money OJB needs for his treatment.

I did not want to put up a post about this but it is sad when you read about the negative effects of the social media. A Ghanian actress Juliette Ibrahim who I thought would have more sense twitted about the amount of money that is being raised as excessive.......

First things first, what is your business, no one came up to you personally and asked for your opinion. Do you think they would be stupid enough to lie to the most populous African nation as if we were all ignorant?

I know you have an NGO that deals with creating awareness for kidney cancer, you should therefore know about aftercare and how extremely expensive it is especially in Nigeria. He will still have to travel out of the country at least one a year, he will definitely be on medication for the rest of his life and will definitely need to move out of that house to a dust free, hygienic environment.

Do you really want another fund raiser in a year for after care and maintenance? Let's pray no ever has to go through kidney failure.

Nigerian government, you should be ashamed that a fundraiser is needed at all. Why do the less privileged have to die because they can't afford dialysis talk less of the transplant, do your part. The entire amount is less than what one of you would have a party with.

I know what I'm talking about.

Labo Ethnik Fashion Weekend in Paris

Now for some wearable fashion. I absolutely loved most of the pieces from the Labo Ethnik Fashion Show which held on the 25th June.

South African Designer Thula Sindi

Versace Volume Effect: Versace F/W13

Catwalk fashion has never been my thing. I have just never understood it. 90% of them are unwearable for about 99% of the human race. I know that it's not meant for everyone * obviously me* and even if 000000.0001% people get it, these designers would still make billions. For those that do, I give you Versace F/W 13.

Absolutely love the bags.

In Versace’s fall advertising campaign, promoting its so-called “Vunk” collection, which referenced the house’s punk signatures. The campaign is “stripped back to the raw power of the clothes and models. There’s no set, no distraction, just the provocation, glamour and attitude of our fashion,” said Donatella Versace.

Psquare, Iyanya Donate To Save OJB Jezreel

You know we only post information when when we're either very happy about something or extremely cross. Since OJB Jezreel went public with his health condition he has received responses from sympathizers nationwide with celebrities being in the fore front of donations.

The list of celebrity contributors have continued to increase with a N1million donation from Don Jazzy and N5million from Psquare (along with elder brother Jude Okoye).

Other donations came from a host of others including Vector, Iyanya (N1m) Ruggedman, and Dele Momodu who have paid visits to the artists home in Surulere Lagos and made donations as well.

OJB’s team says the producer (who is suffering from renal failure) needs N16m to be flown out of the country for an immediate operation.

It really doesn't matter where you are in the world. Pray and donate.
