Radical Muslim Cleric Abu Qatada Has Finally Been Deported From Britain

The radical Muslim cleric Abu Qatada has finally been deported from Britain to Jordan.

He is wanted in Jordan on charges of alleged terrorism. He was once described by a Spanish judge as “Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe.”

The British government had been involved in an eight year legal battle trying to send him home. This ended last month when Jordan approved an extradition treaty that evidence obtained through torture could not be used against him.

Qatada was taken by convoy from London’s Belmarsh high security prison to a Royal Air Force base on the outskirts of the capital and flown out on on a special flight.
