The little prince has a name.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis, Clarence House says.
He’s third in line to the throne and named after his great-great grandfather, Queen Elizabeth’s father who was King George VI. He was called Bertie by his family.
George was the 5-to-2 favourite with the bookies.
Louis is after Louis Mountbatten, the Duke of Edinburgh’s uncle and “Uncle Dickie” to the Queen.
His official name will be His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge but what his family calls him remains to be seen. His uncle, Prince Harry, is named Henry.
BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell said Alexander was said to be a favourite of Kate’s. Louis is William's fourth name.
For the first hour, at least, Prince George, B.C. was still at the top of Google search rather than the littlest royal.
