Whizkid Replaces Crashed Porsche Two Weeks After Accident

Two weeks after crashing his N25million worth Porsche Panorama along Lekki-Epe express way in the early hours of Saturday, June 15, Wizkid has replaced the damaged Porsche with a brand new one.

He posted pictures of his new acquisition on his Instagram page and tagged it #Blessed.

Wizkid survived the accident after his newly acquired Porsche Panarama burst a tire, slammed into a road barrier, thankfully didn’t somersault but spun around multiple times before screeching dangerously to a halt with the damaged hood facing the side of the road.

Wizkid shaken but unhurt was immediately whisked away in another vehicle while his bodyguard waited to see the vehicle towed away.

The pop singer was returning from a Soundcity Nokia #LumiaBeat Party and was in front of the Oriental hotel, Lekki when the accident occurred.

The damaged Porsche

Sources say tragedy was averted when the automobile’s airbag ejected immediately on impact shielding Wizkid and the driver instantly.

I just know people are going to crucify him for this.*Save OJB*

Lawyers for the Jackson family call Prince Jackson, 16, to the stand four years and one day after the King of Pop died from a drug overdose, lawyer Perry Sanders said.

Nelson Mandela's Condition Critical But Stable

Family members and clan elders have been gathering since Tuesday to discuss Mr. Mandela’s health. The family could now face an agonizing decision over how long to continue the life support – a difficult dilemma for a family that has been badly divided on other issues in the past.

“He is using machines to breathe,” clan elder Napilisi Mandela told the AFP news agency on Wednesday after visiting Mr. Mandela in hospital. “It is bad, but what can we do.”

Mr. Zuma visited Mr. Mandela at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, his second late-night visit to the former president since Sunday. He said he found Mr. Mandela still in critical condition and decided to cancel a planned trip to neighbouring Mozambique, where he was to attend a regional summit.

His granddaughter Ndileka Mandela says he's stable but critical as at 10.00 Thursday.

FG Bans Civil Servants From Accepting Chieftaincy Titles

Posted by Peter Omagbemi
Head of Service of the Federation, Alhaji Bukar Goni
The Federal Government on Tuesday banned conferment of chieftaincy titles and “other sundry awards” on civil servants until after their retirement or disengagement from service.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Bukar Aji, in a circular sent to all ministries, departments and agencies of government, however, directed that where the traditional titles were mandatory by inheritance, “due clearance must be obtained from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
A statement in Abuja by the Director of Communications in the Office of the HOS, Mr. Tope Ajakaiye, said, “It has come to the notice of government that some civil servants are in the practice of soliciting for chieftaincy titles and sundry awards, an act, which is inimical to the principles of anonymity, integrity and political neutrality, which are the core values of the civil service.
“Federal civil servants have been banned from accepting chieftaincy titles and other sundry awards until after their retirement or disengagement from the civil service.
“The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, however, directed that where a civil servant must hold a traditional title bestowed on him or her by inheritance or receive any awards, due clearance must be obtained from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation through the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.”
The HOS had also recently said that, henceforth, any civil servant who engaged in private practice to the detriment of government’s job, except farming, would be deemed to have committed misconduct under the Public Service Rules.
The government specifically called on civil servants to adhere strictly to the provisions of the law, which forbids public officers from engaging in private practice.
Investigations revealed that the decision followed a particular prevailing argument, especially during the military regimes, where medical doctors were permitted to practise privately by being in government’s employment and also own private hospitals.

Remembering The Greatest and Only King Of Pop - Michael Jackson

It's unbelievable that its been four years since the death of Michael Jackson, on June 25, 2009, from cardiac arrest. I still remember exactly where I was in 2009 when I heard * I'm sure you all do*.

Jackson is survived by his three children, Prince Michael Jackson II, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. and Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson.

As fans mark the four year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death on Tuesday, the King of Pop's family continues to make the headlines for the wrong reasons, his 15-year-old daughter Paris Jackson remains hospitalised following a reported suicide attempt. Paris has reportedly grown to her mother Debbie Rowe in recent months after giving Michael sole custody of their two children, Prince and Paris, following their divorce in 1999.

Mark Lester, Michael's friend revealed that he believes Paris trying to take her own life "wasn't a serious, serious attempt, but obviously a cry for help he [Michael] did so much to protect his children and for them to have all this media attention, I think, he would have been quite disturbed by it," said Mark, the godfather of Michael's three children.

"Whether or not it'll have any long term damage, lasting effect on them, hopefully not but he wouldn’t have wanted this."

"As far as I'm concerned the children are in the best possible place for them, Michael was their father," said Mark. "Michael brought those children up, whether or not he was the biological father, he was their father from day one." Michael's mother Katherine Jackson is the guardian of 16-year-old Prince Jackson, Paris and Blanket, aged 11.

The legendary pop star passed away on 25 June 2009 at the age of 50 after a cardiac arrest. His personal doctor Conrad Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Why Obama Won’t Visit Nigeria Now- U.S

Posted by Peter Omagbemi

The United States President, Barack Obama, will not travel to Nigeria on his planned trip to Africa this week, despite a strong partnership between the two countries, as the three nations slated for the visit will allow Mr. Obama reach a broader African audience and also demonstrate impressive democratic records, a top U.S. official said on Tuesday.

In place of Nigeria, Mr. Obama will visit fellow West African nation, Senegal, and will visit Tanzania in place of Kenya in the East, in addition to South Africa. The three countries for the visit were “purposefully” chosen to allow Mr. Obama reach a broader audience, and they are also strong democracies the president has made it a priority to support, U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor, Ben Rhodes, said in a conference call addressing Mr. Obama’s itinerary.

The schedule of the U.S. president’s second African trip, which excludes Nigeria for the second time, has again fired concerns amongst Nigerians about the country’s international standing amid the turmoil of insecurity, corruption, and the political wrangling it faces.

£3000 UK Visa Bond: British Nationals In/Coming To Nigeria May Face Similar Policy – Senate

The Senate has rejected the proposed UK visa policy that seeks to compel visitors from some countries including Nigeria to deposit 3,000 ponds bond before its immigration authority at entry point, saying it would not accept Nigeria in the list.

The upper legislative chamber threatened that it would push for the same treatment on the UK citizens in Nigeria or those seeking entry into the country by the time Nigeria is officially notified of the new development.

The Greatest Alist Celebrity Of All Time.

The king of glory.

“Lift up your heads, O’ you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.” Psalm 24:9

Throughout the Psalms there is an interplay between David, King of Israel, and, in the prophetic sense, Christ–the King from whom David received his own throne. In Psalm 24 the rich imagery is of a great king approaching his city. As he and his colorful entourage approach the city gates, their presence is so commanding that the gates–the city leaders gathered in counsel–are exhorted to attend to their entry. The city and its own inhabitants are to make the royal party welcome.

David proposes a royal welcome from the King of heaven. Are the gates to our hearts prepared to give such honor to the entry and enthronement of Christ, our King? Let every ear hear it! Let every heart-gate open freely for His entry.

Beyonce and Jay Z Expecting Another Baby?

Beyoncé recently revealed that she and her husband Jay-Z are planning on having another baby “at some point,” but according to reports the superstar is already expecting!

The New York Post reports this morning that “multiple sources” have confirmed that Beyoncé, who is currently on tour, is pregnant. This comes hot on the heels of gossip that the belted Givenchy gown the gorgeous star chose for last week’s Costume Institute Ball was carefully constructed to conceal a tiny bump.

Beyoncé took the unusual step of prohibiting any and all photographs on her Mrs. Carter Show tour, though fans have been busy breaking that ban and Tweeting shots of the svelte star with a slightly rounded tummy.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Baby Name: North West, How Did The Baby Get That Name?

It was rumoured in March that Kim and Kanye were considering naming their child North, one week later, Kardashian, 32, denied that North was a possibility during an appearance on "The Tonight Show."

"That is not true," the reality star told Jay Leno. "That is not one of the names on our list … We have a list and some of them are 'K' names and some of them aren't.

"You know what name I do like but it probably won't be on [our list] ... I like Easton. Easton West. I think that's cute," she said during her appearance, drawing laughter from the audience.

On Thursday night, omg! confirmed that North West was the name of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter, the new parents are calling "Nori" for short.

Kim Noel Kardashian and Kanye Omari West's middle names combined gives you "Nori."

“Kanye’s ego is something else, so he’s quite serious about the title," a source told The Sun at the time. “He also has a sense of humor though and knows how his self-indulgence is seen by the general public. It’s half tongue-in-cheek, half what Kanye probably feels is true.”

E! reported that Kim was telling friends her daughter's name would start with a "K" leading up to the birth. Media Takeout claimed this week that West's little girl would be named Kaidance, while In Touch accurately (there's a first time for everything) cited sources saying North West was the winner.

One source insists to omg! there wasn't "drama" between Kim and Kanye when it came to deciding on a name, they simply wanted to take their time choosing the right one.

Dele Momodu: PDP And The Rest Of Us

Posted by Peter Omagbemi

Fellow Nigerians, let’s begin to congratulate ourselves on the crisis currently rocking the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Nigeria. It is the troublesome association that harbours the most unruly politicians on the surface of the earth but which prides itself as the largest political party in Africa without any empirical data or proof other than the fact that it is the party in Government in the most populous African country. The PDP is clearly an incredibly boastful party that has not been able to deliver on any of its many promises in the past 14 years despite the stupendous resources at its disposal which it has merely awarded to itself and its followers. The party never fails to praise itself like the lizard that falls from the top of an iroko tree and nods its head that “I have done well”. PDP says it has done Nigerians a huge favour and deserves to be in power for a further 50 years in the saddle. Who are we to argue in the company of the world’s biggest squander-maniacs?

Patience Akpan-Obong: Mallam Sanusi And The ‘Scandal’ That Won’t Go Away

Posted by Peter Omagbemi

Once upon a time, news from my family in Nigeria centered on the dead or dying. Tired of all the negative news, I sent out a fatwa: give me news of deaths and risk instant death! My folks knew I didn’t mean literal death. They also knew the sharpness of my tongue. A family member once said (unfairly, I might add) that if I were goat meat, he would eat everything except my mouth! I didn’t mind that ‘yabis’ because the avalanche of negative family news ceased.

I remembered a family member recently and realised I hadn’t heard about her in ages. When I asked my mother, she said the woman had since passed away. “Why wasn’t I told?” I asked with mild indignation. My mother retorted: “I thought you didn’t want to hear news about death.” Touche! I can’t eat my cake and have it, can I?

Hezbollah: Jonathan Met Our Leader At Aso Rock, Lebanese Suspects Tell Court

Posted by Peter Omagbemi

Three suspected Lebanese terrorists, Mustapha Roda Darwish Fawaz, Talal Roda, and Abdulla Tahini, alleged to have imported arms into the country yesterday, told a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that a prominent member of their group identified as, Hussein Hajj once met and shook hands with President Goodluck Jonathan.
The suspects, including the co-owner of Amigo Supermarket and Wonderland resort in Abuja, Fawaz, who were alleged to be members of Hezbollah terrorist organisation, further told the court that the large cache of arms recovered from them by the Military Joint Task Force, JTF, were mere hunting-riffles, insisting that the Nigerian government has no right to curtail their fundamental human rights on the allegation that they constitute threat to its national security.
