What did you do with your weekend? Relax, reflect and rejuvenate? If you did, great. I'm sure most of you just rocked it up. Whichever way, another weekend's gone and it's Monday. Again.
Here's a list of things to hopefully get you started this week.
1. Spend an hour on Monday morning devoted to personal development. Waking up early on Mondays is hard if you’ve spent your whole weekend partying, to be sure. But if you haven’t (or even if you have), follow the practice of rising early and spending an hour focusing on yourself. Do something just for you to start the day off right.
2. Sing/listen to music. Sing or just listen to nice, calming music is a sure way to start your day off right. Some of you might prefer listening to something with a fast tempo to get you rejuvenated and your juices flowing. Music speaks to our souls and is a way to get our bodies moving and ready to face the day.
3. Avoid negativity. Keep the TV off – the morning news is often filled with bad news and warnings about traffic delays. This will only get us stressed out, even if only subconsciously. So turn off the TV and avoid negative talk radio – just tune out. The idea here is to start the week off positively.
''The person who sends out positive thoughts activates the world around him positively and draw back to himself positive results.''
~Norman Vincent Peale~
4. Look around you. Yeah, that’s right. Most of us have the same routine commute that is so very similar every day, so we start to get “tunnel vision”. We become so wrapped up on our thoughts that we forget to look around. Looking around gives us a new perception on the things we “see” (but don’t see) daily.
5. Read a positive quote every morning. There are great apps for these. I lot of lovely friends also send them out to others.
''Hey, I know it's Monday, but it's also a new day, a new week and in that lies a new opportunity for something special to happen.''
''Each new day greets us with no rules except for the rules we place on it. Greet this new day with open arms and endless possibility.''
6. Tell yourself you’re going to have a good day. Sure, you might have what feels like a million and one tasks ahead of you to face at work or in your personal life that week, but if you have a positive attitude, you just can’t go wrong. Life is 10% of what happens to us and 90% of how we react to it. Choose to react positively, even (and especially) when it’s hard.
Have a great week guys. Muah
Appreciate the recommendation. Let me try it out.
